Pricing FAQ
Do I have to sign any long-term contracts?
No. All plans are monthly pay as you go with no long term commitments.
Is the free plan compatible with the AWS free tier?
Yes. By signing up for a new AWS account, you automatically gain access to the AWS free tier. You can then use both CloudCaptain and AWS for free with 1 t2.micro instance and zero downtime upgrades using an elastic IP.
Can I change plans at any time?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade plans at any time. Upgrades happen immediately and the unused amount you paid for a previous plan will be deducted from your first invoice on the new plan. Downgrades take place at the end of your current billing month.
Is the price really $XX/month no matter how many instances I run?
Yes. All paid plans are by the app and come with unlimited instances. Note that AWS instances may still incur charges on your AWS bill.
Will AWS charge me for my instances?
Yes. CloudCaptain works with your AWS account. Any instances you launch on AWS will be billed by AWS at their usual rate.
Do I need to manually remove images from the vault if I reach the limit of my plan?
No. CloudCaptain will automatically purge old images on a least recently used basis.
What happens to my existing instances when I downgrade?
For CloudCaptain, you pay by the app. Existing instances do not need CloudCaptain to run. If you have more apps than your current plan supports, you will have to upgrade your plan or delete apps before you can deploy again.
What happens when you raise your prices?
Our rule is simple: You always
get the best price you've ever paid.
If we raise prices and you got in when it was cheaper,
then it is our way of saying
thank you and you get to keep your low price as long as you stay on your current plan. If we lower prices,
you will get the new lower price immediately.
